The Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law has filed a lawsuit against Harvard University, accusing the institution of failing to adequately address antisemitic harassment and discrimination on campus. The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts, claims that Harvard is violating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which mandates the university to provide a safe learning environment for all students. The suit includes complaints from five Jewish and Israeli graduate students and follows earlier lawsuits and a Department of Education investigation into antisemitism at Harvard. The complaint alleges that Harvard has tolerated antisemitic incidents, especially during pro-Palestine demonstrations, and has not enforced its policies equally for Jewish students compared to other minority groups. Harvard has declined to comment on the ongoing litigation but reaffirmed its stance against antisemitism.
